thought id give this a shot, posting in here...... i seem to be in a rut.......

40 and gaining weight......

Current stats: 240lb bodyweight........... benching 205lbs for 10 reps..

i may can do a little better than that on the bench, always been very good at it but workouts lately have been "hit and miss" and i havent went up in weight in a good while......... ive also had a shoulder injury that im dealing with, bothers me on other lifts but not bench (luckily)

Goal 1: body weight 225lbs......... benching 225lb for 10 reps.....

honestly i hope to make this in 3 or 3.5 weeks........... i can probably do 225 for 6-8 reps at the moment and my weight is inflated from 235lb to 240lbs..... so getting back to 235 should only take 2-3 days.........

Goal 2: body weight 215lbs........ benching 250lbs for 10 reps.........


i would like to accomplish goal 2 by mid november, dont know if i can make but i want to use this thread, to see how close i can get.........

Workout for monday sept 24:

Chest/Arms (am)................ cardio (pm)

Ill do the best i can on diet but i need some weight off quick to motivate myself, so im going to be cutting back drastically............

Ill update daily (or try to)...............

just rechecked the weight,,,,,,,,, flabby (240) with drawers on.......

off to the gym for a morning of just weights,,,,,,, then a delicious can of tuna fish and a box of raisins.........

back later with bench press results........ hoping for 205lbs for 10 reps, so i know where im at........

Needing to lose 25lbs in 8 weeks and add to my bench at the same time is going to be a chore,,,,,,,,, thought writing this in here, may help motivate me....... "keep the continue"......

liftin weights,just does not help me get rid of any fat...it makes me feel much much better,and i probably look better,but it aint helped me a damd bit,with this gut......ill watch yer thread,and see if this works for ye...hope it does....ps...have you tried cardio?..'keep the continue'

hello mrhognuts............ ive been a gym rat since 1984 or some 23yrs now...

ill be doing cardio at least 5 days per week.......... hour long sessions on the treadmill or stationary bike...............

Im sitting at 240lbs but really only 235lbs........... so basically im trying to drop 20lbs in about 53 days........

i enjoy lifting, especially the bench..... something ive always been good at..

so ive simply set my 2 goals to get me, where i want to be this winter..

weighing 215 lbs and benching 250lbs for 10 reps, is my goal.........

had my morning workout........... easily benched 205lbs for 10 reps.... now remember this is just the beginning of my chest and arm routine..... i enjoy working out and it makes me feel better as well...... does nothing for my gut either......... hopefully in about 2 weeks, i can be in the upper 220's and within 12-13lbs of my goal winter weight........

i can shape 215 lbs into a pretty decent physique but 240 is simply too heavy.........

mrhognuts, im basically a gymrat........... i enjoy filling out the tight tshirts, always have....

check on me from time to time........... ill be doing an hour on the stationary bike tonight, in my garage, in a rubber sweat suit..........
